Monthly SAJA-Chicago social:
Saturday, April 13: Learn the basics of South Indian cooking. Local expert
Ranjana Bhargava will teach you the tools of the trade. You'll leave with
knowledge of four basic dishes, including the famous dosa. She will also
provide recipe cards. Reservation is required to anupy99@hotmail.com -- the
first eight people are in. 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. instruction. 12 p.m. - ? Open it up
to spouses and significant others. SAJA members pay $25 for instruction, others
coming at 12 will pay $12. Venue: 6730 South Euclid Ave., 1 block west of
Jeffrey. A map will be provided to those attending.

Mentoring in Chicago public schools:
Sign up to "adopt" a school in the Chicago
public school system. SAJA members will be required to visit appointed school
at least once a month, talk to the students about journalism and mentor them in
the possible pursuit of writing and reporting as a career option. Journalism
students and working professionals are both encouraged to apply. Please send
the area that is most convenient for you to work, and the times in the day you are available to anupy99@hotmail.com
