About "In the Footsteps of Our Forefathers"...

"In the Footsteps of Our Forefathers" follows 35 young Zoroastrians from the U.S., Britain and Canada as they travel through Iran, the homeland of their ancient religion, Zoroastrianism. The group comprises of both South Asian Parsis, and Iranian Zoroastrians.

Tenaz Dubash's documentary chronicles the young pilgrims' personal journeys, as they explore religion, national origin, history, and community. Their journeys, both to thriving Zoroastrian communities, (Yazd, and Kerman) and to ancient sites of the Persian empires (Persepolis), give the viewer a rare glimpse of Iran, a country that shut itself off from the rest of the world for the past 20 years.
