The Washington Post is seeking a motivated video journalist to report, shoot, edit and produce news, feature and subject-based videos. The candidate will craft narrative stories on a variety of topics for the Washington Post audience.
Responsibilities:
· The candidate will shoot/produce/edit video assignments.
· The candidate will enterprise story ideas.
· He/she will assist in producing live and taped shows from The Washington Post video studio.
· This position could include night/weekend work as well as on-call hours.
Requirements and Qualifications:
· B.A. in journalism, communications, or similar discipline.
· Strong background in visual storytelling
· Strong writing and editing skills
· Strong news judgment
· Strong reporting skills
· Ability to conceptualize projects in new and innovative ways
· Experience in Final Cut Pro, or similar video editing software
· Deftness to handle multiple tasks and deadlines at once
· Good work ethic and self-starting attitude
· Strong communication and collaboration skills
· Ability and desire to learn new software and technologies quickly and adapt to change
