He joined the Times-Dispatch in 1999 and most recently was a major contributor to the newspaper's award-winning coverage of the October 2002 sniper shootings from suburban Washington to the Richmond area. He continues to cover the case in the courts. He has also written about survivors of the Sept. 11, 2001 attack on the Pentagon; a Washington postal worker's battle to survive inhalation-anthrax infection; and efforts to manage suburban sprawl in one of the nation's fastest-growing regions. He has won several awards for his work. Born in London, he previously worked at small dailies in Fredericksburg and Petersburg, Va. A graduate of James Madison University in Virginia, he has completed additional coursework at the Poynter Institute for Media Studies in St. Petersburg, Fla. -30- |
