VIKAS BAJAJ has been a business reporter at the New York
Times since June 2005, covering a variety of business and financial stories.
Previously, he was a business and government writer for the Dallas
Morning News. Bajaj joined The Morning News in June of 1998 as
a Metropolitan reporter. After spending a year covering local government
and police, he moved to the Business desk to write about employment
and the job market. He covered the telecommunications industry
from July 2000 to November 2004. He covered the intersection
of business and government from November 2004 to June 2005.
He has also previously worked at The Associated Press in Bangkok,
Thailand, and The Chronicle of Higher Education in Washington.
Bajaj received his bachelor's degree in journalism from Michigan State University. In 1999, he attended the Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists at the University of Pennsylvania.
He served as vice president of SAJA, the South Asian Journalists Association, from 2005 through 2007.
Bajaj was born in Bombay, India and grew up largely in Bangkok.
