SADANAND DHUME lives in Washington, DC, where he's an inaugural Bernard Schwartz Fellow at the Asia Society. His research and writing focuses on transnational Islam and on Asian Americans. He has recently completed a book on the rise of radicalism in Indonesia.Sadanand is a former Indonesia correspondent of the Far Eastern Economic Review and The Asian Wall Street Journal. In Jakarta, he covered Indonesia's economic, political, security and social scene for the magazine. Before that he was the New Delhi bureau chief of FEER.
Sadanand has written for The Wall Street Journal, Foreign Policy, Harvard International Review, The Earth Times and Little India magazine. He has also worked as an associate producer for MSNBC on the Internet and as a journalist in New Delhi and in Santiago, Chile. His narrative nonfiction has won awards from the Independent Press Association in New York and New American Media in California.
He has a master's degree in international relations from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School, master's degree from Columbia's Graduate School of Journalism and a bachelor's from Delhi University.
