| Gopi Kannadaasan owns Maharaj Productions, a Toronto video company producing commercials and documentaries. Born in Chennai, India, to a family of film celebrities, he is a graduate of Film and Television Institue in Chennai. He has been involved in film and television work for several years.
He worked as DOP for several Indian features and produced several commercials both in India as well as in Toronto. His campaign film For finance minister P. Chidambaram during 1995 elections earned excellent commendations from the United Front as well as Mr. Chidambaram himself. In Toronto, he worked as reporter/cameraman with OMNI 2 Channel. At the same time he was also teaching part-time at Centennial College, Toronto, as supply lecturer in the video department.
Kannadaasan says, "The most rewarding part of my career was as cameraman with NDTV. During Indian Airlines hijacking to Kandahar and several sensational moments, I had the privilege of doing ENG/EFP work in New Delhi."
