SWEENY MURTI is the New York Yankees reporter at WFAN Radio, starting with Spring Training 2001. He will be on the air several times a day all through the season talking about the team and feeding reports and interviews -- and will be at all the games, home and away.

While an undergrad at Penn State, Sweeny Murti interned at the FAN. After earning a degree in Communications, Sweeny worked at radio stations in Pennsylvania before returning to the FAN full time in 1998. He currently handled News20/20 updates during the overnights.

Best On-Air Experience: A three-week stint as host of the Phillies pre and postgame radio show in 1999…working with broadcasters I grew up listening to, covering the team I’ve cheered for my whole life.

Funniest On-Air Experience: Sitting next to Joe Benigno after every Jets, Mets, Knicks and Rangers loss…those monologues (rants) are priceless.

Favorite Caller: Bill from White Plains.

Role Models: Edward R. Murrow, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., John Minko.

Interests: Movies, music.
