SAJA E-mail Lists

SAJA runs several mailing lists that are open to the public. They are all e-mail based. We do not do snail mail.

The Lists are run by SAJA co-founder Sreenath Sreenivasan and several others, depending on the topic.

You DO NOT have to be South Asian or a journalist or live in North America to participate (except as indicated). We encourage you to be a paid member of SAJA (the lowest dues of any major journalism org), but for all lists except one, you do not need to be a paid member to participate. You can sign up here: http://www.saja.org/membership.html

To join a list, please make your selection(s),
fill in the following form, and then submit!

(No more than two messages a month.)
2. E-MAIL DISCUSSION LIST Join 300 journalists and others in 25 countries discussing issues of interest to them. Mostly items about the U.S. & Canadian media, South Asia and the South Asian diaspora. Open to journalists and non-journalists worldwide. MODERATOR: John Laxmi

(Average of 50 messages a day.)
3. ARTICLES LIST Instead of receiving all the discussions of list #2, you receive just the most important and topical news items in the US media about South Asia and South Asian America. An excellent way to keep in touch with goings-on in South Asia and the diaspora. Open to journalists and non-journalists worldwide.

(Average of three messages a day.)
4. SELECTED ARTICLES LIST A filtered version of list #3. You get only articles that are, in the moderator's subjective opinion, especially worth reading. Open to journalists and non-journalists worldwide. A subset of #2 and #3. MODERATOR: Sreenath Sreenivasan

(Average of three messages a week (instead of three a day).)
5. JOBS LIST A continuously updated list of jobs across all media, mainly in the US, but overseas as well. You MUST be a paid member of SAJA to sign up for this. Details at http://www.saja.org/membership.html - do not sign up until you have paid your dues.
6. STUDENTS LIST A discussion list for graduate, college and high school students in the U.S. and Canada ONLY who are interested in journalism and the media. You do NOT need to be a journalism major, but you must show interest. MODERATOR: Sudeep Reddy

(Average of three messages a week.)
7. BROADCAST LIST A discussion list for broadcast journalists working in the U.S. and Canada ONLY. MODERATOR: Kiran Khalid

(Average of one message a week.)
8. PHOTOJOURNALISM LIST For photojournalists working in the U.S. and Canada ONLY. MODERATOR: SAJAer and photojournalist Seshu Badrinath. Sign up through the subscribe box at SAJAPhotoForum.org.
