On Feb 29, 2024, SAJA-NY hosted a full-house event at Asia Society with acclaimed author Amitav Ghosh and distinguished journalist Razia Iqbal. We were celebrating the launch of "Smoke & Ashes," Ghosh's latest book, about this history of opium. Our first event with him was in 1995!
