South Asian Journalists Association (SAJA) and South Asian Bar Association New York (SABANY) have collaborated in curating an esteemed panel of attorneys and journalists to discuss First Amendment issues, the rise in claims of “fake news,” and how attorneys and journalists are responding.

Panelists 

Anjali Kamat, Peabody winning and Emmy nominated investigative journalist. Currently with WNYC. She's worked with Al Jazeera's Fault Lines, Democracy Now etc. 

Joe Danielewicz, Staff Analyst for NewsGuard. He has previously worked in online media with Facebook’s “Trending” news project. 

Ankita Rao, former SAJA board member and currently an editor at VICE. She has reported about health, gender, development and change from India for The New York Times, Quartz, Foreign Policy, Al Jazeera, The Atlantic etc. She is the recipient of several grants including one from the Pulitzer Center.
