Social Media Producer

The New York Post is looking for a dynamic social media producer to help manage and improve properties across the social web. The ideal candidate will have an established social media presence and a passion for digital news, emerging social platforms, and forming connections online. The candidate will work directly with the social media managers on a daily basis. The position is full-time and will include weekends.

Responsibilities

• Promote content from nypost.com on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram with sparkling social media copy
• Develop focused posting strategies based on available analytics
• Pitch new ideas for existing and emerging social platforms
• Work closely with the newsroom and Web team to maintain consistent style and sensibility
• Spark engagement, monitor online discussions and respond when appropriate

Required Skills

• Creativity and flexibility
• Strong writing and editing skills, with experience writing for the web
• Experience with social media marketing, tools like Tweetdeck and SocialFlow, and social media platforms
• Ability to thrive in a non-stop work environment and juggle multiple assignments
• Ability to learn quickly and take ownership of tasks, process, and products
• Proficiency in Photoshop and/or WordPress is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in English, marketing or a related field preferred
