    Summary

    The Vice President of Operations will evaluate operational  activities throughout the organization, ensuring design and implementation of efficient processes and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of The Philadelphia Inquirer. This leader will offer strategic vision to drive efficiency and profitability, while providing best in class measures for improving administrative processes and overseeing enterprise-wide projects.

    What You’ll Do 

    • Lead and coordinate quality, efficiency projects and activities to ensure continuous improvement in our internal practices
    • Ensure organizational decisions and project plans for enterprise level systems and processes are aligned with the company’s
    • business plan, goals and vision
    • Identify and implement new processes to streamline and improve the way we work, including development of process
    • documentation, policies, practices and security measures to support execution
    • Establish and evangelize a set of key operations metrics and drive a culture of continual improvement by regularly reporting on
    • key metrics and identifying benchmarks and best practices
    • Partner with Legal and Compliance experts to ensure regulatory compliance and standards in all areas of the business
    • Coordinate vendor RFP’s for systems upgrades to support process improvements and play a leading role in the vendor
    • selection process including ensuring diversity, equity and inclusion. Maintain associated vendor relationships
    • Review and approve cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects
    • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute an annual budget, presenting periodic performance reports and metrics to
    • the CEO and leadership team
    • Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management

    Who We’re Looking For 
    • Hands-on leader demonstrating agility, collaboration and a sense of urgency
    • Strong ability to ask right questions, collect, organize, and make sense of data
    • History of co-creating new processes and procedures directly with front-line workers
    • Ability to provide financial and budget analysis and support revenue cycle management
    • Current knowledge and understanding of relevant products that are used for managing internal processes. This includes traditional
    • suites like Oracle and SAP, and startups / new entrants like Expensify, Sequoia, and others. 
    • BS in Business Administration or related field required; MBA preferred.
    • Minimum 10 years of operations or financial management experience required
