Across our organization, we’re building a workplace where collaboration is essential, diverse voices are

heard, and inclusion is the key to our success.

NHPR is looking for an experienced host and senior producer for its award winning podcast Outside/In.

Outside/In is a show about the natural world and how we use it. While environmental journalism has a

tendency toward the grim and the apocalyptic, Outside/In investigates solutions and seeks to recapture

the wonder that we have all felt while in the outdoors. A very team‐based and collaborative show, we

strive for joy and fun while empowering individuals to be more engaged with the natural world. This

position reports to the Senior Supervising Producer/Reporter and is located in Concord, NH. Working

    remotely may be an option.

The Host and Senior Producer is a key editorial position, helping to build and support Outside/In’s

capacity for telling thoughtful, deeply reported stories. You will possess a warmth on‐air, combined with

a reporter’s curiosity, and an editor’s judgment. You will both host the show with the show’s producers

and independently report and produce stories. The host will work closely with the show’s producers – a

group of multi‐talented reporter/producers – to write, edit, and produce stories. The ideal candidate

cares about story structure, finding compelling characters, supporting the reporting team, and sticking a

landing. We are looking for someone with a passion and curiosity for the natural world, who writes and

supports writing with flair and accuracy, and has a deep understanding of and love for narrative

journalism. In addition, we are looking for a person who has an inclusive approach to their work and is

committed to finding and featuring voices that reflect the full range of human experience.
